It was unrealistic to ever expect the movie Mario to sound like his video game namesake, but fans blinded by love are often the hardest to please. Still, with the movie’s release later this year, Nintendo is hoping to bring some of the magic and nostalgia of the original game to the big screen. Super Nintendo World is now open at Universal Studios Hollywood. The new land features a Mario Kart-inspired ride and a restaurant called The Mushroom Cafe, along with a host of other Mario-themed attractions.

With MAR10 Day hitting soon on March 10, Nintendo has announced a series of activities, including the release of exclusive Super Mario-themed merchandise. Super Mario Bros. 3 is one of the classic Game Boy Advance games recently added to Switch via Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Super Nintendo World, which opened Friday at Universal Studios Hollywood, is a deeply immersive and interactive simulacrum of Mario's world. The land is filled with interactive elements, like coins that react to your presence, and even a real-life Mario Kart ride with augmented reality.
