Old but still alive: is your Wii U still functional?

Is Your Wii U Still Alive? The Wii U has been around for over a decade now, and is still alive and kicking. The successor to the Nintendo Wii, the Wii U was released in 2012, and although it wasn’t as successful as its predecessor or the newer Nintendo Switch, it still has plenty of games and a loyal fan base.

However, there have been reports of Wii U owners experiencing error codes such as 160-0103 and 160-2155, which indicates a memory issue. Even more concerning is the fact that if the console is left unused for long periods of time, it can brick the console entirely. This means that if you don’t boot up your Wii U every once in a while, it could die and become near impossible to repair.

Fortunately, if your Wii U is still alive, there’s still plenty of gaming to enjoy. The Wii U has a wide range of games, from Virtual Console titles to the beloved Mario Kart 8, which was first released on the Wii U in 2014. The 2017 Switch version of the game was an even bigger success, and it’s still being updated and supported by Nintendo.

There are also still new games being released for the Wii U, such as Thunderful Games’ latest 3DS and Wii U eShop sale, which is now open for North America. This sale is a great opportunity to pick up some classic Wii U games, as well as some new ones.

Jokes about the Wii U collecting dust are almost as old as jokes about the PlayStation Vita collecting dust, but it’s true that some Wii Us have been left unused for long periods of time. So if you’re one of the 13+ million who decided to pick up a Wii U, it’s time to check if it’s still alive or not.
