Is Xbox Live down? Microsoft is scrambling to restore Xbox, Teams and Outlook servers after reports of users being unable to log in to multiplayer games have started coming in. The problem has yet to be acknowledged by Xbox itself, but over 1,000 Xbox gamers have reported that Xbox Live is down for them on the Down Detector website.

The issue appears to have started around 10:30pm GMT on February 1st. Many gamers are unable to access and play their games, in particular those installed through Xbox Game Pass. Some are reporting that the Xbox Live sign-in page fails to load and others are having issues with their Achievements not appearing or not registering.

Update: Xbox Support has now confirmed that the Xbox Live outage has now been fixed after 'intermittent issues.' According to the support tweet, the team is still investigating the issue and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

On top of this, those trying to connect to a multiplayer game on Xbox consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S), as well as PC, are seeing a “Sign-in Error” message. The message reads: “We’re having trouble connecting to Xbox Live. Please try again later.”

Although the issue is still being investigated, there are a few things that can be done to mitigate the problem. First, ensure that your console is connected to the internet and has the latest updates installed. You can also try to disconnect from the Xbox Live network and then reconnect.

It’s not just gamers that are being affected either. Microsoft Teams and Outlook are also facing issues due to the Xbox Live outage. Teams users have been reporting that they are unable to join meetings and Outlook is having trouble connecting to the server. Microsoft is currently working to resolve the issue, but there is no estimated time of resolution yet.

There's also still plenty of time to download the second of February's Games with Gold, the top-down soccer action title Guts N Goal, before it's removed from the store. Microsoft will also not be closing down the Xbox 360 Marketplace, the company tells The Verge, even though text on an official Xbox support page suggested otherwise.

The Xbox Live servers outage has also made it impossible to play Destiny 2. However, Destiny 2 servers will be brought offline for 24 hours prior to the launch of its new DLC and season. This means that gamers won’t be able to access the game until the servers are back up and running.

The outage is also affecting the availability of some special offers. Microsoft is currently offering a special subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for just $10 (down from $30). With this, you get access to hundreds of games and discounts, along with instant access to EA Play and Xbox Live Gold for no additional fee.

At this time, it’s unclear when the Xbox Live servers will be back up and running, but Microsoft is working hard to restore service. We’ll update this article with more information as it becomes available.
