For gamers who have been enjoying the selection of titles available on the Xbox 360 console, it's time to say goodbye to some of them. Microsoft has announced that 46 games will soon be delisted from the Xbox 360 Marketplace, making them no longer available to purchase. This news is sure to be a disappointment to those who still use the Microsoft console, as the delisted games include some of the biggest titles in the Xbox 360 library.

Those who are still using Microsoft's Xbox 360 console will soon be losing access to purchase 46 games in total from the platform's digital store. Microsoft recently announced that they will be delisting these games from the store, making them no longer available to buy or download. The games will still be playable on the console, but players will not be able to buy them from the Xbox 360 Marketplace anymore.

The games being delisted include some of the biggest names in the Xbox 360 library. Not only were they some of the most popular titles on the console, but they were some of the most critically acclaimed games ever released for the platform. These include titles such as Mass Effect 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Those aren't the only big-name games that have left the Xbox 360 marketplace. The surprisingly solid 2008 Prince of Persia game is another title that has been delisted, as well as the classic horror game Dead Space.

Loads of Xbox 360 games will be delisted from the 360 Marketplace soon, and while some will still be available to buy through the Xbox Store, the selection will be much smaller. This is not the first time that Microsoft has delisted games from the Xbox 360, and it won't be the last. It's unclear why Microsoft has chosen to delist these games, but it's likely that they are trying to make room for new titles.

Not only was it at the forefront of online gaming, but it has the best library of any Xbox console so far, punctuated by many compelling titles. Xbox Games With Gold March titles: World War 2 strategy and creepy survival horror are two genres that have seen a recent resurgence of interest on the Xbox 360. Since Games With Gold retired from serving up Xbox 360 games back in 2017, there has been a steady flow of titles from the console's past being made available on the platform.

We've got good news if you're a fan of classic original Xbox and Xbox 360 games, as it's a big week for backwards compatible deals on the Microsoft Store. The ongoing sale on the Xbox store has made a couple of legendary role-playing games $4.49. Both RPGs reign from the Xbox 360 era, with the spiritual successor to Planescape Torment and the first entry in the Mass Effect series both included. There are also some great titles from the original Xbox era on offer too, including the classic Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

Games were graphically superior and more immersive, but that wasn't important in the end: the Xbox 360's success was due to its phenomenal library of games. Perhaps emboldened by the runaway success of the Xbox 360, Microsoft launched the Xbox One in 2013. The Xbox One had a much larger library of games than its predecessor, but it didn't quite have the same impact.

Xbox has detailed the first wave of free games coming to Game Pass in April. As well as the recently-released Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the service will bring players a selection of games from a variety of genres. The range of titles on offer are diverse, with a mix of Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC games. The Xbox 360 science-fiction shooter Mass Effect 2 will also be available to play for free.

Not only was it at the forefront of online gaming, but it has the best library of any Xbox console so far, punctuated by many compelling titles. The delisted games from the Xbox 360 Marketplace may be a disappointment for those who still use the console, but the selection of titles will still be plenty big enough to keep gamers entertained. Xbox 360 owners may still be able to purchase the delisted games through the Xbox Store, but for now, it's time to say goodbye to some of the console's biggest titles.
