One insider has stepped forwards to explain Xbox's seemingly leaked upcoming strategy to go multi-platform and step back from hardware. According to this insider, Xbox will allow some of its biggest titles to make their way to PlayStation as it looks to recoup money spent on acquisitions. This move comes as a surprise to many, as Xbox has long been known for its exclusive titles and rivalry with PlayStation. However, it seems Xbox is ready to explore new avenues and reach a wider audience.
There's a new rumor making the rounds that Xbox is planning to bring a number of its series to other platforms like PlayStation, in an effort to increase revenue and expand its player base. While this rumor is yet to be confirmed, it has sparked excitement among gamers who have always wanted to play Xbox exclusives but don't own an Xbox console.
The files were discovered early Tuesday morning by users on gaming forum ResetEra. FTC spokesperson Douglass Farrar tells WIRED that the leaks happened courtesy of Microsoft itself, as it provided these sensitive documents to the court via a publicly accessible link. Yesterday, the court mistakenly failed to redact certain information, allowing the leaks to occur. Microsoft has since taken down the link and is investigating the matter.
