A lackluster follow-up fails to recapture the magic of its predecessor.

description: an intense scene from the movie showing a fierce naval battle between the persians and the greeks, with eva green's character leading the charge with a determined expression on her face. the sea is turbulent, and ships are colliding in the background, creating a chaotic and dramatic atmosphere.

I never thought 300: Rise of an Empire could capture lightning in a bottle a second time, but the 300 sequel is just so hollow. While King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans have their date with destiny at Thermopylae, another battle against the Persians is brewing, this time at sea. Eva Green brings such voracity and spectacle to her character and she has a blast doing it. While Stapleton is quite dull as Themistocles, Green steals the show with her powerful performance.

This movie suggests that women (Gorgo and Artemisia) are drivers for war, even though they constitute almost none of the combatants. True the belated sequel to the 2006 international blockbuster 300, 300: Rise of an Empire is the sort of film that's so monumentally awful. Anchored by Eva Green's fearsome performance as a Persian naval commander whose vengeful bloodlust makes glowering King Xerxes seem a mere afterthought.

300: Rise of an Empire review – 'frowning gym bunnies with digitally enhanced abs' ... Hollywood publicist Bumble Ward was once interviewed about. “300: Rise of an Empire” is just an unpleasant experience. The plot is confusing, the photography is murky, the battles get boring quickly. The human body is seventy percent water. According to 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE, the other thirty percent must be ketchup.
