I certainly knew what I was walking into with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition – a collection of classic NES games from my childhood. Bite-size speed challenges refresh the classics, but require a healthy dose of patience. As I fired up the game, memories of spending countless hours playing these games flooded back, and I couldn't wait to dive in.

I never competed in Nintendo's World Championships, although I'm old enough to remember when the first one happened in 1990. Inspired by the real-world phenomenon, Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition is a delightful speedrunning retro bundle of fun. The graphics may be outdated, but the gameplay is as addictive as ever.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is a thrill ride through Nintendo classics. From Super Mario Bros. to Donkey Kong, every game included in the collection brings back a wave of nostalgia. The controls are smooth, and the difficulty level is just right to keep you engaged without feeling frustrated.

I have no idea if I am the first to discover this, but if I am, I would like it to be known that in Nintendo World Championships NES Edition, the multiplayer mode is where the real fun begins. Competing against friends or family members in quick, intense challenges adds a whole new level of excitement to the experience.

This isn't a family-friendly party game. This is (retro) war. As you battle it out with your opponents in various mini-games, the competitive spirit runs high, making for some truly memorable gaming sessions. The nostalgia factor is off the charts, and you'll find yourself reminiscing about the good old days of gaming.

Stevivor's review: 'Truthfully, Nintendo World Championships NES Edition made me more nostalgic for the actual games found within -- Super Mario, Zelda, and more. The collection is a love letter to classic gaming, and it's a must-have for any retro gaming enthusiast.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is a mini-game collection that lacks depth but is a total blast in multiplayer format. While the single-player mode may feel repetitive after a while, the multiplayer mode breathes new life into the game and keeps you coming back for more. Overall, it's a fun and nostalgic experience that is sure to please fans of classic NES games.
