In terms of technology, MIPI DSI-2 is now the current version of the standard and is the leading display interface for mobile phones and tablets. In recent years, as technology has advanced, MIPI DSI-2 has become the standard for mobile displays.

DSI is also used to refer to the Digital Services Initiative, which is a program created by the European Commission to help ensure the smooth functioning of digital services across the European Union.
